The story of the arrogant Lion and the clever Owl | Children's fairy tales with a moral message
Once upon a time, deep in the heart of a lush jungle, there lived a ferocious lion who ruled with a mighty roar. But instead of protecting the other animals, he used his strength to bully them, making life miserable for all.
One day, tired of living in fear, the animals gathered to devise a plan to stop the lion's reign of terror. The hare, known for his quick wit, proposed sending a champion to teach the lion a lesson.
The other animals were astonished. The tiger glanced around nervously, the elephant let out a low whistle, and the rhino continued reading his book, seemingly unfazed by the commotion.
The next day, rumors spread like wildfire through the jungle that the owl would face the lion in his own den. When the lion heard the news, he rolled with laughter, confident in his own strength.
Just when they were about to give up hope, the owl swooped in, apologizing for his tardiness. The lion, furious at the delay, demanded an explanation.
"I'm sorry," said the owl calmly, "but I encountered a lion even fiercer than you on my way here. I waited for him to tire himself out before making my entrance."
The lion, astonished and enraged by this claim, demanded to be taken to this supposed rival.
Without hesitation, the owl led the lion to a nearby well. "He went in there," the owl said, pointing into the depths.
But instead of finding another lion, he heard his own roar echoing back at him, amplified by the well's depth. Terrified by the thunderous sound, the lion scrambled out of the well and fled into the night, never to be seen again.
