The Blue Jackal Story for Children | BEdtime Story with Moral
Once in a jungle far away, there was a clever little jackal. One sunny day, he went out looking for food. As he wandered, he stumbled upon a quiet village. Curious, he explored around.
Suddenly, some dogs from the village spotted him and tried to chase him away. The frightened jackal dashed off to escape.
"Stop right there, little jackal! This is our place, and we won't let anyone intrude!" barked the dogs as they chased him.
In his panic, the jackal found refuge in a nearby house belonging to a washerman. In the backyard, he noticed two big tubs filled with blue dye. Without much thought, he jumped into one of them to hide.
After a while, he emerged from the tub, not realizing he was now completely blue. When the dogs saw him again, they were terrified and ran off, mistaking him for a strange creature.
Confused by their reaction, the jackal returned to the jungle. But there, too, the animals reacted strangely, some running away and others whispering behind his back. Perplexed, he went to the river for a drink and saw his reflection, understanding why everyone was acting so oddly.
"Oh!" exclaimed the jackal, finally realizing what had happened.
An idea struck him. He gathered all the animals and declared, "Dear friends, do not fear me! Brahma, the creator, has made me to be your king. I'm here to protect and care for you. Live happily in my kingdom!"
Believing his words, the animals obeyed him. Monkeys fetched fruits, and tigers and lions brought meat, all serving their new king.
Feeling powerful, the jackal banished all other jackals from the jungle, fearing they might recognize him.
The other animals finally realized they had been deceived by the cunning jackal. Angry and betrayed, they chased him away, and he met his end.
The moral:
Deception may work for a while, but the truth always comes out in the end.
The lesson from this tale is that individuals cannot conceal their true nature indefinitely. Just like the jackal couldn't resist his instinct to howl, leading to his downfall, people often reveal their true selves despite their attempts to hide. It's common to encounter individuals who pretend to be something they're not, but sooner or later, their true colors emerge, often with unexpected consequences. It's wise to steer clear of such individuals.
Moreover, the story underscores the fleeting nature of a dishonest life. The jackal fabricated a grand tale about being chosen by the creator of the world, relishing in a life of deceit. However, when the truth surfaced, he faced the consequences and wasn't forgiven by the other animals. Thus, it's crucial to prioritize honesty in life. While lies may offer temporary comfort, they inevitably lead to complications once exposed.
