Several brands like NVIDIA Shield and the latest generation Xiaomi TV Box already offer this configuration. The price is certainly higher, but it's an investment in comfort for years to come.
What you need to watch out for are TV Boxes with 1GB of RAM. These products are still being sold, usually at extremely low prices under 15 dollars. Don't be tempted. 1GB of RAM isn't even enough to run the latest Android TV smoothly. These devices are only suitable for very specific purposes like digital signage or offline file players without multitasking. For daily use as a home entertainment hub, the experience will be painfully bad.
Other specs you can't afford to ignore
RAM is important, but it's not the only component that determines performance. Internal storage is also crucial. A TV Box with 8GB of storage will fill up quickly just from the system and a few streaming apps.
